The Scottish Government has called in Weber Shandwick Edinburgh to handle its Smoking Cessation campaign.
The campaign is aimed at motivating adult smokers wishing to quit to contact the Smokeline, as well as raising awareness of new legislation surrounding the Tobacco and Primary Medical Services (Scotland) Bill.
Kindred has closed its Leeds office, leading to job losses for two staff.
The agency is currently finalising redundancy plans, following news in July that one-third of the agency's 80-plus staff could be cut.
The Department for Culture, Media and Sport is losing longstanding chief press officer Anthony Wright to the Treasury, after seven years in the role. He has been appointed press secretary to Danny Alexander, the chief secretary to the Treasury.
The London Fire Brigade is launching Cooksafe, a campaign aimed at cutting the number of fires that occur in the kitchen by ten per cent. This will save the UK economy more than £500,000, it is claimed.
Wigan Council's former principal PR adviser David Mather has died just a few weeks after retiring. Mather, who was 58 and had worked at the council for 30 years, lost his battle against acute renal failure.
