The forthcoming bank holiday weekend spawns deals and weekend sales being advertised across the national press, with Argos taking a presence in several titles.

Argos pushes TVs in The Times and flooring and light fittings in the Daily Mail. In The Daily Telegraph coffee makers, cameras, satnavs and hoovers are being advertised.

In The Guardian the catalogue retailer includes a pullout of products and also runs its ads across the tabloids.

M&S is running a seven-day sale on homeware and furniture, which it advertises across the papers alongside several other home and garden retailers. Habitat has a sale, lasting four days across the bank holiday weekend while Debenhams takes 70% off some products.

B&Q runs a full page in The Daily Telegraph, again promoting a sale over the holiday weekend.

Waitrose promotes a bank holiday recipe of Thai Chicken, while M&S pushes its ‘dine in for £10’ offer.

PC World and Currys launch an offer of £50 off laptops, PC’s and netbooks when trading in an old laptop, while HMV make holiday offers in The Independent and the Daily Mirror.

Laterooms.com tempts readers of The Independent with cheap bank holiday deals, alongside other long running discount offers from several airlines.

And The Times pushes its iPad app, hoping to attract more online readers since numbers fell after its paywall was implemented.
