Capital Radio Digital has been awarded the local digital multiplex licence to serve Cardiff, Newport and south east Wales by the Radio Authority.
Capital Radio Digital has been awarded the local digital multiplex
licence to serve Cardiff, Newport and south east Wales by the Radio
Authority.
It was the only applicant. The service will include eight channels, six
of which are music-driven, including the Xfm and Capital Gold brands, as
well as the existing BBC radio stations, Radio Wales and Radio
Cymru.
All will carry news services. Capital plans to begin transmission of the
digital services in October 2000.
