The creative director position is a first for the London office and mirrors the recent appointment of James Kelly to a similar role in the US.

Coney has been appointed from his previous position as a director in the agency’s consumer practice.

In this new role, Coney will be responsible for developing GolinHarris’ creative product. He will report to co-managing directors Matt Neale and Jonathan Hughes.

As part of the role, Coney will work closely with director of planning Cat Franklin on existing and future client work.

‘With so many clients demanding a "big idea", it’s important to have someone who can lead the development, selling and execution of outstanding creative campaigns,’ said Coney. ‘Any big idea must not only make strategic sense but also be woven and integrated into the brand’s overarching narrative and positioning for clients to invest in them.  This is why the creative and planning processes at GolinHarris are so closely aligned.’

Coney joined GolinHarris in July 2007 from eBay. Previously, he was at The Red Consultancy for over five years.
