Brand Republic: a change is gonna come
Rich Sutcliffe, brandrepublic.com, Tuesday, 15 June 2010, 2:30pm,
Over the coming days you can expect to see some changes on Brand Republic, with improvements to the design, usability and functionality of the site.
Having asked you what you wanted from Brand Republic, we've been working since the start of the year on a relatively simple brief: more news, more research, more comment, more jobs, and all of it quicker and easier to find.
In the new design and structure of the website we've tried to highlight the content you said was most valuable to you and your ability to do your job better. We've tried to make that content easier to find and add new discipline and sector pages to reflect the numerous areas the advertising, marketing and media professionals that make up the Brand Republic community specialise in.

We've also tried to connect our various specialist sites, Campaignlive.co.uk, Marketingmagazine.co.uk and Mediaweek.co.uk, that make up the Brand Republic network in a meaningful way - the eagle eyed among you will see we've tweaked our strapline along these lines - and to make the content we produce easier to share.
But what you will see at launch is just a snapshot of our plans for this year. The majority of the work has been carried out on the back-end system that drives Brand Republic to create a platform that has the flexibility to adapt to the fast-moving industry we aim to be at the heart of.
We are investing in staff and bringing new skills into our editorial teams to enhance the coverage we already produce, and to add new sections to the site, such as research, data and a case studies library, to help us deliver the kind of world-class business insight resource you asked for.

We are, of course, asking for something in return, but only what we believe represents a fair exchange.
If you read our news daily, which many of you do, wish to access our in-depth reports and analysis, receive news and jobs updates via email or are an active member of the BR community, you will be asked to register.
Given that more than 200,000 of you are already registered, and casual readers will unlikely reach the metered limit on news, for the majority the changeover will be seamless. For those not already registered, we've made the process as quick and easy as possible and unlimited access to our network of market-leading websites remains free.
We don't believe that a few minutes of your time is too much to ask to help us continue to derive the value from Brand Republic that enables us to deliver a better experience to our readers.
We hope you enjoy exploring the new site and the changes, immediate and gradual, you encounter. There will be ample opportunity to let us know what you think, good or bad, and we will attempt to fine-tune the experience based on your feedback.
Finally, a quick thank you to everyone at Brand Media and Haymarket Business Interactive who worked incredibly hard to bring the new site to life.
