The new design will provide brands with multi-platform commercial opportunities to engage with KidsCo's core audience of children and families on a multinational or regional basis.
Children can stream KidsCo programming, download play materials such as colour-in sheets and play interactive games as well as upload photos, drawings and jokes to share with other users.
The website, KidsCotv.tv, launched in Australia yesterday and will go live in the UK on 2 August and be rolled out across Asia, Western Europe, Central and Eastern Europe and the Middle East in 11 languages by September this year.
Rob Mackenzie, worldwide sales director at KidsCo, said: "This website provides us with the opportunity to offer clients the chance to advertise on our website as well as on the channel. We are looking forward to developing multi-platform advertising packages that will help them reach a targeted audience of children and families."
KidsCo programming features well known characters such as Sonic the Hedgehog as well as original commissioned content such as ‘Boo & Me' and ‘Jass Time!'.
Paul Robinson, managing director of KidsCo, said: "As a channel, we set out to distinguish ourselves in the television market and have redesigned the website to extend our family-friendly, educational entertainment online.
"As a result, we have created an interactive online community which offers exciting and fun activities and programming for six to 10 year old kids that complements the channel and provides them with a fun and safe online community."
KidsCo is a joint venture between NBC Universal, Corus Entertainment Inc. (Nelvana) and Cookie Jar Entertainment and currently has channels on linear TV, VOD, SVOD or IPTV in 92 territories throughout the world in 17 languages but is yet to announce a launch date for its UK channel.
