Bite loses consultant, wins venture capital client
Bite has lost one of its top digital specialists in what is being hailed as a blow for the tech agency.
Senior creative and digital consultant Jonathan Hopkins is serving out a notice period at Bite's London office.
The blog specialist, who worked on the agency's Zopa and Tiger Beer accounts, will be pursuing a career in freelance comms. 'The way the industry is going, we're using a lot more freelancers for projects and social media work,' Bite director Robin Wilson said, adding that Hopkins may work for Bite on a freelance basis in the future.
'Of course it's a loss, but it's not going to dent our digital offering,' he insisted.
- Separately, Bite has won a planning brief to support high-profile venture capital outfit Accel Partners. The agency will reach out to internet entrepreneurs and create an 'influencer engagement plan' for Accel. Bite head of cleantech Nick Rappolt will be leading the Accel account at the agency. Accel invested US$13m in Bite client Facebook in 2005.
