European designer outlet giant McArthurGlen Group has created a new role of director of PR, comms and b2b as the group expands.
Giovanna Gregori joins McArthurGlen as it opens its 21st designer outlet this autumn in Hamburg. The group, which introduced the idea of designer outlets in 2005 and expanded into the full price luxury market in 2008, is planning four more outlets including its first outside Europe, in Vancouver, Canada.
Gregori was corporate project manager and PR manager at Louis Vuitton Italy, part of the LMVH Group, and PR manager at Louis Vuitton Italy, responsible for all corporate projects and events in Italy. She spent nine years as a member of the board of directors of the Audrey Hepburn Children’s Fund, where she worked in comms for an exhibition to raise money for UNICEF.
Shaeren McKenzie, McArthurGlen Group marketing director, said the new role would ‘strengthen our comms strategy and enable us to focus on our top priority of delivering a unique, top-class retail proposition for our brand partners and for many millons of consumers'.
Gregori said: ‘I am thrilled to join McArthurGlen at a time when the company is building on its leading position within Europe’s retail sector. McArthurGlen’s designer outlets across Europe are home to the leading names in luxury, and this extraordinary experience needs to be communicated increasingly effectively to partners, be they McArthurGlen’s brand partners, our investors and, of course, ultimately to customers.’
