Public Affairs: The Week in Lobbying

Marie Curie Cancer Care has appointed Simon Jones as head of policy and public affairs for Wales.
He joins from headhunting firm Odgers Berndtson, where he was a partner. He will be the main link in Wales between the charity and key stakeholders, with the aim of increasing awareness of the charity's work in Wales and strengthening links with the business and political community.
Liberal Democrat group Lib Dems in PR has appointed Lord Clement-Jones as its chairman. The previous chairman, Lord Newby, has stood down to take a job in government as a whip. Clement-Jones is a managing partner at DLA Piper.
Connect Communications and Helen Johnson Consulting have formed an association, to take effect from 1 August. The partnership will focus on ways to harness the joint firepower and specialist skills of both consultancies, while also investing in staff development through exchanges and shared learning programmes.
Neil Gadhok has left his role as head of the press office at the Royal College of Nursing to join Insight Public Affairs. He will be joining the Insight team as an account director in September, having spent three years in his previous position.
