The Office: Google UK - Google plays at higher level
prweek.com, Thursday, 02 February 2012, 8:00am,
Google is well known for its quirky offices, generous canteen and 'Thank Google it's Friday' social events.
A new floor, called Level 4, has recently opened in the London offices where the PR team is based. It was designed and project managed by Google's engineers.
Nelson Mattos, V-P, EMEA product & engineering, says it was designed to promote 'collaborative innovation' with surfaces 'to scribble ideas on as soon as they pop into your head'.
He says the best ideas come through chatting, sharing interests and getting input from colleagues: 'The relaxed, creative environment and a social vibe has resulted in the creation of multiple Google products, many of which came from unrelated teams finding out about each other's work and physically meeting to discuss fresh approaches.'
Address: 76 Buckingham Palace Road, London SW1W 9TQ
Nearest tube: Victoria.
