Rivals: AirFast wants to take on holiday giant Thomson
The travel site is now used by 15 million people a year after being launched in 2009.
The Greek company, which employs 60 people and has bases in the US, UK, Germany and Greece, aims to position itself as an uncluttered user-friendly site which makes it easy to find good deals.
The Four bgb team will launch the website in the UK ‘in the next few weeks’ through PR and social media, with its German Pangaea partner GCE handling the launch in Germany.
They have been retained until December to lead a social media campaign and creating a blog, press office and media relations work and press trips.
The team, which includes Four bgb MD Debbie Hindle and director Helen Coop, are working with Four Communications new head of social media Antía Buhigas.
They will report to Phippa Barrett, chief marketing officer at AirFast Tickets.
Thomson, Expedia and lastminute.com were the most visited online travel agencies in 2011. Thomson has an 8 per cent market share, while Expedia has an estimated 25 million customers per month.
