Edelman's Dublin office will take over Ryanair’s communications from Murray Consultants from 1 August 2010.
Over 30 agencies pitched to represent the cut-price airline, which included Eulogy and O’Herlihy Communications.
Edelman Ireland managing director Mark Cahalane said: ‘Our team will focus on partnering in the development of Ryanair’s story, as it continues to deliver lower airfares, increased routes and a no-nonsense approach to everything it does.’
Murray Consultants resigned the account earlier this month after representing the PR-savvy budget airline since before its stock market flotation in 1997, blaming a disagreement over fees.
A number of agencies declined to pitch, owing to fees that are believed to be around £6,300 a month.
