Public affairs consultancy Political Context is launching a sister

consultancy in Wales, to be known as Welsh Context, which will be headed

up by new recruit Andrew Davies, currently special projects officer for

Wales Labour Party.

Davies has worked for the Welsh Labour Party intermittently for over 10

years. His main task as special projects officer was co-ordinating the

Welsh devolution referendum campaign last year.

The new agency, which opens next month in Cardiff, will handle Political

Context’s existing Welsh clients, like coal producer Celtic Energy, as

well as developing new business as Wales gears up for its new

assembly.

Davies will be looking for extra staff once Welsh Context is

underway.

Leighton Andrews, chairman of both Political Context and Welsh Context,

said: ’We already have business in Wales which wants to know more about

how the assembly will change the Welsh context.’
