Mundipharma has parted ways with retained agency Cohn & Wolfe to bring in Chamberlain following a competitive pitch.
The account will be headed up by Chamberlain MD Mark Cater. Cater took up the position at Chamberlain earlier this year, after leaving his role as regional director for EMEA at C&W last October. Cater was brought in to strengthen the US agency's UK operation.
Chamberlain will work on Mundipharma's corporate reputation. The brief will also cover support of the drug firm's existing external communications, including traditional and social media activity.
'Chamberlain has been hired to help tell our story as we grow and hire new people,' said Mundipharma director of European marketing and sales services Georg Toufar.
Mundipharma has also appointed Weber Shandwick to handle the European launch of its asthma treatment Flutiform. The account was also previously held by C&W.
The drug is a novel combination product for asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. It will aim to take on GlaxoSmithKline's Seretide drug and AstraZeneca's Symbicort in the market.
Mundipharma is also pitching out its pain business, previously retained by C&W. The firm is looking for PR support for the European launch of its Targin product.
The accounts are the latest blow to C&W's healthcare team after Mundipharma awarded the PR account for its rheumatoid arthritis treatment to The Red Consultancy last month.
