Pearson subsidiary Pearson New Entertainment is recruiting staff for an

in-house PR department and turning its back on external agencies.

A number of PR agencies, such as Beer Davies Publicity, Larkspur and

Consolidated Communications have been used on an ad hoc basis in the

past by PNE, which was set up in 1994. PNE comprises Future Publishing,

PNE Video and PNE CD-ROM.

The department will be headed by Liz Ramsay, who joined Pearson in

January 1995 from Sega to run Future Publishing’s PR and corporate PR

for PNE.

Ramsay said she is currently looking for an experienced video public

relations person to oversee PNE Video which produces around 50 titles a

year in the areas of sport, comedy and music.
