Diary: Lobbyist gives new meaning to ’wanted’ posters

The lobbying industry now has its own godfather, in the shape of APCO UK deputy managing director, Nick DeLuca.

The lobbying industry now has its own godfather, in the shape of

APCO UK deputy managing director, Nick DeLuca.

In April, when APCO moves from its Wells Street home to new premises in

Cavendish Street, anyone entering DeLuca’s office will be faced with

another larger than life Italian-American - Marlon Brando - glaring down

at them from a frame on the wall.

DeLuca collects original film posters, and The Godfather is his latest

purchase. He explains his choice of idol thus: ’As an Italian American

growing up in New Jersey, it was kind of inevitable.’

Strangely, Deluca even managed to jet off to Sicily to represent APCO at

sister company GCI’s annual global get-together last month.

Deluca is not the only one to admit to a poster fetish: Fishburn Hedges

director Graham McMillan has also fallen under the spell. His somewhat

smaller poster collection counts Diamonds Are Forever and A View To A

Kill - both gifts from Deluca.
