Chambers Cox PR is branching out into wood promotion following a deal
with the Nordic Timber Council.
The council, which represents the bulk of the timber industries of
Sweden, Finland and Norway, appointed Chambers Cox after a three-way
pitch against Fleishman Hillard and the Capper Granger Agency. The
account, which runs provisionally for three years, will be worth pounds
100,000 in the first 12 months, one third of which will be fees.
Jos Chambers, CC chief executive, said the campaign aims to increase
awareness and consumption of pine and spruce in the UK. It will
initially focus on business audiences, such as importers, agents, the
construction industry, architects and furniture manufacturers, but would
later target consumer markets.
‘We are planning a range of activities, including press, TV and radio
work, road shows and exhibitions. We also intend to set up sites on the
Internet,’ he said.
