Sol, the Mexican premium bottled lager, has hired Spreckley Pittham to
manage its trade and consumer PR programme in the UK.
Appointed this week by Moctezuma and Cuauhtemoc Imports (MCI), the
importing subsidiary of Sol’s brewer Cerveceria Moctezuma, Spreckley
Pittham will run a media relations and events programme targeted
principally at the 18 to 24 youth market.
Reporting to MCI’s European marketing director Chris Deathe, the agency
will also work for Sol’s sister brand Dos Equis, promoting both brands
to publicans, bar owners, off-licence managers and older supermarket
Spreckley Pittham’s appointment follows a lengthy search by Sol for an
agency after its relationship with Jackie Cooper PR ended in May. The
parting, by mutual consent, freed Jackie Cooper to pick up work from
Fosters lager three weeks ago.
Jackie Cooper also provided Sol with a list of eight agencies to take
over the account. A total of 14 agencies were approached.
