SANTIAGO: Spanish agency Llorente y Cuenca has signed an exclusive
affiliation agreement with leading Chilean agency Extend. The two
agencies first worked together two years ago on a corporate PR programme
for IBM, and most recently on the acquisition of Chilean sugar company
Iansa by Spanish firm Ebro, the fourth largest sugar company in Europe.
Extend is one of the largest agencies in Chile and has 30 staff. General
Motors, General Electric and IBM are among its main clients. Llorente y
Cuenca founder Jose Antonio Llorente said: ’We are seeing a lot of
activity between Spain and Chile. Spain is the largest foreign investor
in Chile.’ Llorente y Cuenca already has wholly-owned offices in Buenos
Aires, Argentina, and Lima in Peru.
