commercial media relations brief to Beattie Media, the Scottish-based
agency which entered the hi-tech PR arena with a new division last
The contract was awarded after a three-way pitch against Lexis PR and
Harvard PR. Beattie replaces incumbent PA Consulting (PR Week, 16
April), which continues to provide PR support and communications
strategy for H-P’s marketing centre in Germany.
Jon Van Duyne, general manager for H-P’s UK consumer group, said: ’The
established agencies took a conservative approach to handling our
business ,whereas Beattie Media’s ideas were fresh and exciting.

The H-P account will be headed by Amanda Groty, who joined Beattie Media
nine weeks ago to found its hi-tech division, from Firefly
Communications, where she was an account director.
Beattie Media will run a media relations campaign to raise the profile
of H-P’s brand and products to businesses and the general public. H-P
also uses Noiseworks PR in the UK for its business market.
