PUBLIC SECTOR: Met Police names acting head of news

Metropolitan Police public affairs director Dick Fedorcio has installed Chris Webb as acting head of news, overseeing the body’s 40-strong team of press officers. Webb, previously head of the special operations desk, replaces Tessa Bartholomew, who is to make a sideways move into the force’s personnel office on return from maternity leave. Fedorcio has begun a search for a new bureau chief. The head of news advises on media relations strategy and reports directly to Fedorcio.
