The Bulgarian trade and tourism ministry and tour operator Balkan

Holidays have chosen Eligo to entice tourists from the UK and Ireland to

Bulgaria.

Eligo will reassure travellers that Bulgaria has not been affected by

the recent Kosovo war.

This is the first time since the collapse of the Soviet empire that

Bulgaria has hired external PR advisers. The move follows a period of

direct investment in the Bulgarian tourism industry.

Eligo, on an initial six-month contract, has been briefed to mount a

trade and consumer PR campaign under the banner ’Bulgaria - a treasure

to discover’, highlighting the high quality, inexpensive summer and

winter holidays available in Bulgaria.

Eligo’s managing director and founder Anthony Bailey - a former

Burson-Marsteller director - will lead the Bulgarian account, reporting

to trade and tourism minister Valentin Vassilev.
