The Department of Trade and Industry has given its backing to the
Best Practice campaign launched last week by PR Week as part of the
Confederation of British Industry’s Fit for the Future initiative (PR
Week, 18 June).
John Battle MP, Minister for Energy and Industry, applauded PR Week’s
plan to campaign for the publication of best practice guidelines.
He said: ’I am delighted that the PR industry is embarking on this best
practice initiative and that it is working closely with the CBI’s Fit
for the Future Campaign. I urge all of you within the PR sector to
participate in the initiative.’
The interests of the DTI will be represented on the Best Practice
steering panel by John Orme, a Countrywide Porter Novelli director who
has been seconded to the DTI’s Innovation Unit.
