Merrill Rose, the former head of Porter Novelli’s Chicago office,

has been appointed to the post of director-Europe for Countrywide Porter

Novelli in Brussels.

Working with Brussels managing director Dominic Lyle and Countrywide

chairman Peter Hehir in the UK, Rose will help develop the agency’s

pan-European capability for clients which include BT Europe, GE Plastics

and the European Council of Vinyl Manufacturers.

Hehir explained that Rose would also give hands on support to Lyle, who

until now has been Countrywide’s only director in Brussels. ’She is

helping on a global basis, bringing her American experience to Europe,’

he said.

’As the only other director on the ground she will also take some of the

pressure off Dominic.’

Rose was head of Porter Novelli’s Chicago office for five years, but has

worked for Countrywide in Brussels on an informal basis since October

last year.
