McCann-Erickson Public Relations has bought Manchester-based Lawson

Leah Public Relations. The firm is to merge with McCann-Erickson’s

existing Manchester PR outfit Castlefield PR.

The merged outfit, which will have a turnover in excess of pounds

500,000, has been renamed McCann-Erickson Public Relations (Manchester).

Lawson Leah’s managing director Jo Leah is staying on as managing

director of the new entity.

All eight staff from the two agencies are to keep their jobs. They will

be joined by Robert Taylor and Angela Fogg, both from Hill & Knowlton’s

Manchester office which closed this week (PR Week, 28 March).

Asked whether they would be bringing clients from Hill and Knowlton with

them, McCann-Erickson group managing director Ron Dyson said: ’We have

taken on Robert and Angela for their contacts, not for bringing over

accounts, but we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.’
