Opinion: From our Readers - Harry Enfield - come on Jon, that's a con

Whatever my former colleague Jon McLeod thinks of David Cameron, it is worth mentioning a few of the 'great PMs' Eton has produced over the years whose names his Harry Enfield character was 'not sure of' in his party political broadcast idea (Features, 19 February).

Actually there have been 18 (the most of any school), including Walpole (the first), the Duke of Wellington, Melbourne, Gladstone, Salisbury and the hat-trick of Macmillan, Eden and Home. They have included Tories and Liberals/Whigs. For Labour, Eton has yet to produce a PM, but can boast former chancellor Hugh Dalton and some maverick MPs.

'Tim Nice But Dim' - now Jon, that's a bit of a con.
