Diary: Fallon lines up a sizzling summer of PR with his new breast friends

John Fallon, director of communications at media giant Pearson, is

feeling very excited about his plans for the summer.

One of his tasks involves helping to publicise the group’s recent

acquisition of All American, the US company which produces David

Hasselhoff’s Baywatch.

Investment bank SBC Warburg Dillon Read’s senior analyst, Colin Tennant,

is organising a tour of US companies this summer for analysts from UK

institutions. He has asked Fallon to introduce All American to his

group, a task which I understand Fallon has accepted with great

enthusiasm.

Fallon joined Pearson last September from a rather less sexy company,

the utility PowerGen, and is obviously enjoying his new

responsibilities.

He refused to confirm rumours that the briefing is to take place on the

set of Baywatch. Analysts must be eagerly waiting to hear whether they

will be asked to bring their cozzies and snorkelling masks, or whether

they will get a chance to be rescued from the waves by Pamela Anderson

successors Donna D’Errico and Gina Lee Nolin.

However sources close to Pearson said: ’We’re sure the analysts will be

far too interested in All American’s business performance to go

frolicking on the beach with the cast of Baywatch.’
