The new consultancy, called Limelight Middle East, will be based in Dubai Media City and is opening as a separate entity to the London office.

In Dubai, the new agency will primarily focus on business PR and communications. It will be headed up by managing director James Holmes, who is formerly the corporate communications manager at Leo Burnett MENA.

Simpson will take on the CEO role at the Middle Eastern office. She founded Limelight in London in 2002 and is a former PRWeek Young PR Professional of the Year.

Simpson said: ‘The current economic conditions and chatter surrounding Dubai have not put us off.  We are confident that we have a compelling and commercial offering that will make a real difference to businesses in the Middle East.'
