BORDER LINES: NEW YORK - GCI acquires Boxenbaum Grates

GCI Group has bought leading US internal communications firm Boxenbaum Grates. The firm will be known as GCI Boxenbaum Grates and will operate as part of GCI’s existing internal communications practice, which was set up a year ago. GCI’s purchase follows the departure of Keith Burton last February. Burton was hired a year ago to build the company’s internal communications business. Boxenbaum Grates counts 18 staff. It was founded in 1969 and has clients including General Motors, Mobil and Coca-Cola.

GCI Group CEO Bob Feldman said: ’This is an industry coup. It’s a

distinctive niche that’s not been filled.’
