BORDER LINES: TOULOUSE - Airbus promotes Guerard to head PR

European aircraft manufacturer Airbus Industrie has promoted corporate communications deputy vice-president Michel Guerard to the company’s top PR post. This follows the departure of Robert Alizart after 13 years as corporate communications vice-president to go freelance. In his new role, Guerard is responsible for all internal and external communications, reporting to executive vice-president, strategy, Philippe Delmas. He oversees 38 PR staff at Airbus’ Toulouse headquarters and works closely with the five-strong PR team in Airbus offices in Washington DC and Beijing. Before going into PR, Guerard was an area sales director for Airbus. Airbus Industrie is a joint venture between British Aerospace, France’s Aerospatiale, German firm Daimler-Chrysler and Spanish CASA.
