TURIN: Hill and Knowlton has been appointed to handle corporate PR

for Juventus, the Turin-based football club which counts a fan base of

ten million across Italy.

The agency, Juventus’ first, was selected without a pitch on a one-year

corporate PR contract. It will also work on special projects for

Juventus.

H&K will run the account from its Milan office, reporting to the

football club’s marketing manager, Romi Gai.

The first project Hill and Knowlton will be involved in is building on

the recent launch of Juventus’ branded Mastercard credit card.

Hill and Knowlton deputy general manager Valerio Vago, one of the

account leaders, said: ’It’s quite unusual for a football team to

develop corporate PR. We’re very proud to be working for what is one of

the biggest brand names in Italy.’

Juventus is 99.6 per cent owned by Ifi, the holding company for the

Agnelli Group, whose interests include Fiat.
