The Refugee Council’s head of press, Anne Thomas, is leaving the

refugee rights charity next month to join public affairs firm

Westminster Strategy. She will work as an account manager in the media

relations team, which recently lost Jo Moore, who is now a special

Thomas will report to deputy managing director Mike Lee and handle

clients including the Joint Council for General Qualifications, which

represents examination bodies in England, Wales and northern

Ireland.

She has worked for the Refugee Council for over three years and was

previously a press officer for Hammersmith and Fulham Council.

Westminster Strategy has also hired Matthew Ball, who joined this week

as an account executive from the office of MP and Economic Secretary to

the Treasury, Patricia Hewitt. Ball’s clients will include utility South

West Water and London money market LIFFE.
