Madge Networks, which designs networks that carry voice, data and
video simultaneously, has hired Text 100 on fees of around pounds
200,000 to promote the company in the UK and the US.
Work starts on 1 May on the corporate and business-to-business account,
which was won following a three-way pitch. Incumbent Keene
Communications did not repitch.
Part of the campaign is to relaunch the UK-based company in May from one
that provides Token Ring networks - a system fast becoming outdated - to
one spearheading networks which use the internet.
Text will attempt to raise the image of the company with media analysts
and potential clients among blue chip transport and manufacturing firms
and financial institutions.
A key focus will be companies listed in both the Fortune 500 list of top
US companies and the FTSE-100 in the UK.
Madge has an in-house communications team of 12 led by corporate
marketing and business development vice-president Emilia Knight, who
reports to CEO Robert Madge.
