Paul Gauger takes up VisitBritain 2012 Olympics global role

VisitBritain has created a new PR role in a bid to capitalise on the 2012 Olympic Games.

Paul Gauger becomes global leader for 2012 Games media in April, moving from his current position as VisitBritain's PR director for the Americas.

He will report to director of marketing Laurence Bresh.

Gauger will focus on building relationships with worldwide broadcast media to ensure that the eyes of the world are focused on Britain in the run-up to 2012.

He said: 'My goal is to build on previous Games-related destination PR, to help widen broadcast exposure for Britain's destinations, attractions, accommodation and experiences.'
