The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) has hired Marketforce Communications to raise its profile in the media as the industry’s mouthpiece.

The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) has hired Marketforce

Communications to raise its profile in the media as the industry’s

mouthpiece.

The move towards more issues-led PR follows the arrival of new marketing

director Ray Perry in January and the CIM’s first dedicated PR manager

Claire Forbes in May.

Prior to Marketforce’s appointment, Paragon handled the CIM’s corporate

PR but was not invited to repitch. Marketforce beat both Kinross and

Render and Caroline Cecil Associates to the account.

David Saunders, a director of Marketforce, said initially the focus will

be on the impact of EMU, digital TV and home shopping. The agency will

also promote the CIM’s new Chartered Marketer qualification which aims

to put marketing on a footing with professions such as law and

accountancy.

Marketforce will also work with the institute to develop a system for

measuring PR effectiveness.

Marketforce’s professional services clients include KPMG Management

Consulting and financial services specialist TCA Consulting.
