American IT giant Force Computers has appointed Ketchum to handle a pan

European communications programme.

The account, which will be run from Ketchum’s London and Munich offices,

will be worth pounds 100,000 in fees between now and the year’s end.

Ketchum’s European offices will also lend communications support to

Force’s expansion into Asia.

Force is well-known in the IT sector as a supplier of computer

motherboards but is shifting the emphasis of its business to concentrate

on ‘high end’ systems. ‘Basically, they’ve been making computer

components, now they want to market entire systems,’ said Ketchum’s MD

Jim Horsley.

The business was not put out to pitch. ‘Ketchum came highly recommended

to us,’ said Force European marketing director Chris Williams. ‘We’re

going to start in Europe then our goal is to expand into Asia with

them.’

Ketchum’s Munich office will run the PR for Germany, France, Italy and

Spain. London will be responsible for the UK, Benelux and Scandinavia.
