Hannah takes on Pomeroy’s role at Allied Domecq

Allied Domecq has drafted in its brand marketing man Ian Hannah as director of corporate communications.

Allied Domecq has drafted in its brand marketing man Ian Hannah as

director of corporate communications.



Hannah, president of Allied Domecq Spirits and Wine international brand

group for Europe, will replace Henry Pomeroy who is retiring in

September.



Pomeroy will retain his responsibility for alcohol issues until his

departure.



The corporate affairs job reports to Allied Domecq director of corporate

affairs Tony Pratt and covers media relations, internal communications,

sponsorship and community affairs.



Hannah joined Allied Domecq in 1989 from rival drinks company IDV. He

has been managing director of two wine and spirits subsidiaries: Harveys

of Bristol and James Burrough.



A year ago Allied Domecq split its international brand groups into

European and US. Hannah was pulled in to head the European arm,

overseeing strategy for its Scotch whiskies, brandies and sherries

including Courvoisier and Teacher’s Highland Cream.
