Findus Group hires former easyJet PR chief to strengthen corporate comms function

EasyJet's former longstanding comms chief Toby Nicol has resurfaced at one of Europe's biggest food businesses, Findus Group.

Nicol has joined the food firm, whose brands include Young's Seafood and Findus, in the newly created role of director of corporate affairs. The role has been created to strengthen the group's corporate function.

Nicol left his role as director of communications and corporate affairs at the budget airline last summer after ten years at the airline (PRWeek, 27 August 2009). He worked across all corporate communications functions, including media relations, lobbying, regulatory affairs, financial communications and corporate and social responsibility.

Findus Group chief executive Chris Britton said: ‘Toby is a heavyweight communications professional with a strong track record in leading communications innovation in fast-moving, international environments.  He brings a wealth of strategic experience to the business and he will play a central role in transforming Findus Group in the years ahead.'

Separately, Findus UK has appointed Finn Communications as the retained consumer PR support to look after its entire portfolio of products.

The six-figure account win followed a competitive pitch.
