STOP PRESS: Salaries of PM’s press advisers revealed

Tony Blair’s press secretary, Alastair Campbell, is one of the three highest paid government advisers, with an annual salary of pounds 91,014, Cabinet Office Minister Jack Cunningham said in a written answer to the House of Commons this week. Cunningham also announced a new three-band pay structure for the Government’s 67 special advisers, which will be effective from next month.
