Airport operator BAA has appointed Fishburn Hedges in a four-way competitive pitch to work on its property account.

Airport operator BAA has appointed Fishburn Hedges in a four-way

competitive pitch to work on its property account.

The agency’s brief is to provide strategic guidance and ’hands on’

support for BAA’s group properties. This will cover media relations,

internal communications, event and conference management.

The account, which is understood to carry fees of over pounds 50,000 a

year, covers corporate property and Lynton, BAA’s commercial property

development arm.

Public relations firm McLean Aylwin Communications previously handled

the Lynton account, but is no longer retained. The pounds 2 billion

property portfolio, which includes shops, offices and warehouses with

over 800 tenants, was handled in-house.

Commercial property activities generate pounds 252 million a year, more

than 18 percent of BAA’s total income.

’We are excited to be involved with BAA at this time when both property

and aviation industries are growing so rapidly,’ said Neil Hedges, chief

executive of Fishburn Hedges.
