The MacLaurin Group has restructured to give Vikki Stace

responsibility for overseeing the combined MacLaurin Communications and

Powerhouse PR operations as managing director.

Stace was previously managing director of Powerhouse, which the

MacLaurin Group bought last September (PR Week, 26 September 1997). She

takes over some responsibilities from founder Brian MacLaurin who

remains group chief executive and will focus on new business.

’Business comes into the group centrally, and goes to the most skilled

team,’ explained MacLaurin. He added that the PR operations would retain

their brands.

As part of the restructure MacLaurin director Peter Law, who has been

with the firm since 1994, has resigned and plans to set up his own PR

company specialising in advertising and broadcasting.

MacLaurin stressed that the parting was amicable and said he expected to

work with Law in the future.

Law is expected to take at least one member of staff with him and may

also take one or two clients.
