Trew Relations wins Hanes and Champion work

Trew Relations has won a four-way pitch to handle PR for sports and leisurewear brands Champion and Hanes. Yellow Door, Karen Brooks PR and Quantum PR are also understood to have pitched for the account, worth about pounds 100,000 in budget.

Trew Relations has won a four-way pitch to handle PR for sports and

leisurewear brands Champion and Hanes. Yellow Door, Karen Brooks PR and

Quantum PR are also understood to have pitched for the account, worth

about pounds 100,000 in budget.



PR for Hanes and Champion was previously handled by Andersson Whitehill,

an agency which was wound up earlier this year. Trew Relations’ brief is

to build the image of the brands among consumer audiences in the UK, in

particular targeting the fashion press.



Hugo Youngman, brand manager for Champion and Hanes, said: ’To promote

Champion, we would like further coverage of the NBA - the US basketball

league - in this country, for which Champion has an exclusive replica

contract, and a better market penetration of the Champion Job Bra sports

bra. As for Hanes, we want the agency to get more products other than

t-shirts into the media.’



Champion and Hanes are both owned by US retail conglomerate, Sara Lee.
