Public Sector: The Public Sector Week

- The Southbank Centre has appointed Edward Venning as its director of comms and marketing. Venning will join next March after leaving his current job as deputy director of marketing and channels at the Department for Communities and Local Government.

- Brahm has been appointed by Southdale, the social housing provider in the North of England and the Midlands. The agency will focus on communicating the brand's values, performance record and future ambitions.

- Deirdre Colledge, formerly head of comms at Redditch Borough Council and the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames, has died from cancer aged 50. A much-loved and respected local government PR professional, she was also assistant director of policy and communications at the London Borough of Camden.

- LG Communications is holding a seminar at Manchester Town Hall on 10 December to discuss the future of strategic communications hubs for the public sector.
