Diary: MDS praises nuns’ business centre venture

Michael Dewar Associates (MDA) has been appointed to work on a

project for St Hilda’s Priory, home of the Order of the Holy Paraclete,

based in Whitby, Yorkshire.

The order of anglican nuns owns the Sneaton Castle Centre, which offers

’residential and day accommodation in peaceful surroundings’.

MDA is to help develop new markets for the centre to raise funds for the

nuns’ vocational work: educating youth.

MDA’s Pam Healy was duly dispatched to spend five days with the nuns,

getting to know her new clients and working with Sisters Naomi and

Hilary, who run the centre.

As contact with the outside world is limited, Healy had to let her

clients know that if Sneaton Castle became a dedicated business centre,

they could expect to put up with the shenanigans of large groups of

adults let out of the office.

Healy says: ’I felt it was a real privilege to be taken in to the bosom

of these women.’ MDA managing director Mike Dewar adds his praise: ’They

always pay their bills on time.’
