Jubilee 2000, an international coalition formed to persuade Western countries to write off Third World debt, has appointed Mark Borkowski Press and PR to promote its cause in the UK. Mark Borkowski account director Sally Homer started working for Jubilee 2000 on a pro bono basis this month. The agency handled publicity for U2 singer Bono and boxer Muhammad Ali when they appeared at the Brit Awards on Tuesday to introduce the issue of cancelling Third World debt to the music industry. Ali is the international ambassador for Jubilee 2000. The coalition was formed in 1997 and has 90 member organisations in the UK, including Christian Aid and the Trades Union Congress.
