Cohn and Wolfe has hired Sarah Hill, previously a board director at

the agency’s parent company, Young and Rubicam (Y&R), as its first media

planner.

Hill joined the agency this week to work part time. Her job is to

evaluate the agency’s campaigns and plan media targeting for

clients.

Hill has worked in media planning for ten years. She has worked for BMP

in London, and for Leo Burnett and DMB&B in Hong Kong.

In 1994, she joined Y&R as media group manager. She was promoted to the

board and became media group director at the end of 1996 leading a team

of four.

Other agencies with media planners include Manning, Selvage and Lee,

Countrywide Porter Novelli and Burson-Marsteller.

At Cohn and Wolfe, Hill will be involved in new business pitches and

will also advise existing Cohn and Wolfe clients on targeting and media

selection. Her brief includes negotiating paid-for advertorials and

promotions.

She will report to Cohn and Wolfe directors Jill Rennie and Graham

Fleet.

Initially she will focus on consumer clients, including

Colgate-Palmolive and BA subsidiary budget airline Go.

Hill said: ’Every aspect of evaluation is becoming increasingly

important - from defining your target audience to campaign analysis - as

clients are being forced to be ever more accountable for their marketing

budgets.’
