Public Affairs: Lobbying info due out 'soon'

Ministers have promised to publish details of formal meetings with lobbyists and others as soon as possible.

In recent days, both international development secretary Douglas Alexander and energy minister Joan Ruddock responded to parliamentary questions on the issue from Liberal Democrat MP Norman Baker.

Alexander said: 'In its response to a report by the Public Administration Select Committee ... the Government agreed to publish online, on a quarterly basis, information about ministerial meetings with outside interest groups.'

He added: 'Information for the period 1 October to 31 December 2009 will be published by departments as soon as the information is ready.'
