STOP PRESS: Audit Commission drops LLM

Local government and NHS watchdog the Audit Commission has dropped its retained public affairs agency, Lawson Lucas Mendelsohn (LLM), after three months. The Commission’s board met this month and decided to take its public affairs in-house, a move which is expected to lead to extra staff being recruited. The Commission’s decision follows allegations of misconduct by members of LLM made in the Observer newspaper last July. The Commission continues to employ Citigate Westminster for its media relations.
