STOP PRESS: BBC correspondent joins Scottish Labour

Former BBC political correspondent Lorraine Davidson has been appointed as communications director for the Scottish Labour Party. She will oversee a five-strong team and report to Scottish Secretary Donald Dewar. Davidson succeeds Paul McKinney, who left last month for personal reasons. Before joining the Scottish Labour party, Davidson was a BBC reporter for six months. She previously worked as a political correspondent for STV for five years.
