Aviva Investors, the asset management business of insurance giant Aviva, has appointed Paul Lockstone as its corporate affairs director. Lockstone is currently MD of Edelman's EMEA financial practice and will start at Aviva Investors in January 2010.

Lockstone will lead the external and internal global communication activities of the business. Lockstone has been an MD at Edelman since 2005 and previously worked at Merlin Corporate and Financial Communications and inhouse at Alliance & Leicester, PwC and NatWest.

VMA Group, the recruitment consultancy firm, has promoted Crystal Walter to lead its corporate communications practice. She replaces Claire Tuffin, who has been handed a wider remit as MD of VMA Group. Prior to VMA she worked for international law firm, Lovells.

Dalton Strategic Partnership, the investment management firm, has brought in Polhill Communications as its retained PR agency after a competitive pitch process. The firm sees PR as an important part of its marketing strategy as it seeks to grow its assets.

Reallymoving.com, the online provider of online quotes for home-moving services, has appointed the Wriglesworth Consultancy as its retained PR agency following a competitive pitch. The agency will target businesses such as HIP providers, surveyors, solicitors and removal firms.

Peregrine Communications has signed two new clients - Cube Capital, a global alternative investment and advisory firm, and Brunel, a boutique private equity consultancy and M&A brokerage.
